❓ Frequently Asked Questions
Are my files safe during conversion?

Yes — conversion runs entirely in your browser and no file is ever uploaded to a server. Your files never leave your device.

What formats are supported?

Word (DOCX) to PDF, HTML or TXT; Excel (XLSX/XLS) to CSV, PDF or Word; CSV to Excel, PDF or Word; PDF to TXT, Word or image (JPG/PNG); TXT to PDF, Word or HTML; and image formats (JPG/PNG/WebP) between each other and to PDF.

What is the maximum file size?

Maximum 50MB. For larger files, split them or use dedicated desktop software.

Can I convert PDF to copyable text?

Yes — PDF can be converted to plain text that you can copy and edit. Quality depends on the original PDF; files with real text (not scanned images) give the best results.

Does the converter work offline?

Most conversions (TXT, CSV, image formats) work offline if you have opened the page before. Conversions that rely on external libraries (PDF, DOCX) need to load the library once on first use.

Why does PDF to Word show plain text without formatting?

Browser-based PDF to Word conversion extracts text only, because PDF does not store original Word formatting data (tables, images, headings). For full formatting you need dedicated software like Adobe Acrobat.

Does the converter support scanned PDF files?

No. Scanned PDFs contain only images, not extractable text. To process them you need OCR (Optical Character Recognition), which is not currently supported.

How does this differ from Smallpdf or ILovePDF?

The key difference: this converter runs entirely in your browser and never uploads your files to any external server — guaranteeing full privacy. Tools like Smallpdf and ILovePDF upload your files to their servers for processing and may temporarily retain a copy.

File Converter — Word, Excel & CSV in Your Browser

Convert Word documents, Excel spreadsheets and CSV files directly in your browser — no uploads, no account, no software required. All processing uses JavaScript libraries running locally on your device, so your files never leave your computer.

When to use each format

  • DOCX — formatted text with tables, headers and styling
  • XLSX — spreadsheets with multiple sheets and formulas
  • CSV — plain data tables readable by any database or analytics tool
  • TXT — plain unformatted text with universal compatibility

Limitations

Complex formatting — embedded images, custom fonts, macros, pivot tables — may not transfer perfectly between formats. Always review the output before using it in production. Files over 50 MB may process slowly in the browser.
