How do I calculate the price after a 20% discount?
Multiply the original price by (1 − 0.20). Example: 500 × 0.80 = 400. Or enter the price and discount % in the Discount tab above.
How do I find the discount percentage from two prices?
Discount % = ((Original price − Discounted price) ÷ Original price) × 100. Example: from 200 to 150 = ((50÷200)×100) = 25%.
Is the discount applied before or after VAT?
The discount is typically applied to the price before VAT, then the tax is calculated on the new discounted price.
"Buy 3 Pay 2" — what is the effective discount?
It equals an effective 33.3% discount on the third unit, or approximately 11.1% off the total order. You pay for 2 units and receive 3.
What is the difference between a discount and cashback?
A discount reduces the price immediately at purchase. Cashback returns a portion of the amount later to your wallet or card. A direct discount is better value in the moment.
How do I calculate the original price from the discounted price?
Original price = Discounted price ÷ (1 − Discount%÷100). Example: price after 20% discount = 400 → Original price = 400 ÷ 0.80 = 500.
Can two consecutive discounts be applied?
Yes, but they are not simply added together. 20% then 10% = an effective 28%, not 30%: 100 × 0.80 × 0.90 = 72.
How do I compare multiple discount offers?
Calculate the final price for each offer with the tool and compare the unit price. The highest percentage discount is not always the best value if the original price is higher.
